The first option is a quick confirmation with your insurance provider to check if you’re already covered for vehicle transport. You can check the terms of your coverage yourself or via a quick phone call through their helpline. It may be covered by some and not by others, so it’s important to check. 

Alternatively, you can opt to select our transport insurance option. Note that we are one of the few car carriers offering transit insurance as part of our service. You will see it as an option by completing the instant quote process on our website. 

Lastly, you can opt to take the risk and go for the cheapest option without any transit insurance. The positive news is that NZ Consumer Protection laws are in place under the ‘Carrier’s Liability’. This means that you may be eligible for up to $2000 (including GST) if there’s an accident and damage occurs. However, if there is an accident and your vehicle is written off, $2000 is the maximum cost you can recover. If your vehicle is worth much more, don’t leave it to chance and organise insurance ahead of shipping.
